Bear in mind that streets in the centre of Krakow are divided into three zones:
Zone C – you can drive freely, but you have to pay for the car park
Zone A & B – you can't drive or park there.

Parking in the center is pretty expensive. The best way is to leave the car by the hostel and take the public transport. You'll avoid traffic and surely it's gonna be much cheaper. Not mentioning, that the centre of Krakow is so small, that everything worth to see in the old town and Kazimierz District is within a walking distance.
