There's a real story behind the phrase. A seventeenth century man proclaimed with much pride that he had discovered an elephant on the Moon. It turned out that a mouse had crept into his telescope, and he had mistaken it for an elephant.

Well, and as in Poland Elephants bring luck, and the Moon is somehow, although not always, connected with sleeping there couldn't be a better name for our hostel.
